MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Bucks will likely be without their top player on Sunday when they begin their playoff series against the Indiana Pacers.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the team is “hopeful that treatment on his left calf strain will allow him to return sometime later in the series.”
The two-time MVP suffered the injury after a noncontact incident against Boston, which initially led the Bucks to fear the worst, but sources tell Wojnarowski that Antetokounmpo’s left Achilles tendon is completely intact.
In 73 games played this season, Antetokounmpo averaged 30.4 points, 11.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.1 blocks while shooting a career-high 61.1 percent from the field, putting him back in the 2024 MVP conversation but the team will look toward Khris Middleton and Damian Lillard to lead while he’s out.
