GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers continued to add to their defense after selecting Texas A&M linebacker Edgerrin Cooper 45th overall and Georgia safety Javon Bullard 58th overall.
Bullard was named to the 2023 AP All-SEC Second Team and the 2022 Defensive MVP of the Peach Bowl and CFP National Championship Game. Bullard played 11 games as a junior in 2023 on 555 total snaps. He recorded 45 tackles, 12 assists, and 13 stops, as well as forcing 5 pass breakups and 2 interceptions, and allowed an astounding 36.6 QB rating when targeted.

According to scouts at NFL Draft Buzz, Bullard is an “aware zone cornerback/safety who also shows promise in man coverage, flashing physical hand usage at the line and straight-line speed to stay with receivers downfield” and has “impressive football IQ and route recognition, adept at anticipating plays and quarterback intentions.”
Bullard will likely spend time next new star safety Xavier McKinney and may even see time at cornerback as well. Scouts compare him to NFL players such as Lions safety/cornerback Kerby Joseph and Dolphins safety Jevon Holland.
