For the first time since Thursday night when Arizona’s Jordan Morgan became the Pack’s number one draft pick, Green Bay had only a single choice in a round. They used their only pick in the sixth to take another offensive tackle, a very large one at that in Travis Glover out of Georgia State. Glover is just a shade under 6-6 and played at 332 pounds last year although he said he’s trimmed about a dozen from his frame heading into his first NFL training camp. Glover was a dependable and available player at Georgia State throughout his five year career, starting 57 games, second most in program history. Yes, he handled more than one position up front as well, almost a pre-requisite for Packer scouts. He played some guard as a junior following the graduation of an upper classman but finished his career where he played most of the time, left tackle. The small school level of competition didn’t bother Glover a bit when he more than held his own against Power 5 defensive linemen and edge rushers at the Senior Bowl. Glover said it was a thrill getting a call from the Packers, his little brother’s favorite team and he’s just the second player from his hometown of Vienna, Georgia to get drafted in the NFL, the first was also taken by the Packers in defensive lineman Montravius Adams in round three back in 2017.
