MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers will have one of their star hitters back in the lineup on Wednesday as Christian Yelich (back) has been taken off the 10-day IL.
According to a post on X from the team, top prospect Tyler Black will be sent back down to Triple-A Nashville to make room for Yelich on the major league roster, who will hit third and play DH for the Brewers on Wednesday. Yelich will look to return to his early-season form for the Brewers before suffering the back injury when he was hitting .333 with five home runs and 11 RBIs.
Black appeared in just seven games for the Brewers, hitting .227 with no home runs and no RBIs, but did record two extra-base hits during that span.
Yelich’s return comes at a crucial time, as the Brewers are currently tied for the NL Central lead with Chicago after dropping three out of their last five games. First pitch for Wednesday’s matchup against the Royals can be heard on WSAU at 1:10 p.m., with Joe Ross taking the mound for Milwaukee and Brady Singer starting for Kansas City.
