WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A new phase will begin on Thursday in one of Wausau’s major summer street projects.
Stewart Avenue will be closed for eastbound traffic between 48th and 68th Avenues, though westbound traffic will be maintained. This traffic pattern is expected to last through late July.
It’s part of a complete reconstruction project for Stewart Avenue, which connects downtown Wausau to the city’s business park. The project includes the addition of curb and gutter to the road, the replacement of all below-ground water infrastructure, and a new multi-use pedestrian path.
Detours will be posted for eastbound drivers.
